I provide group music therapy on a weekly basis with mixed-gender clients suffering from a wide range of mental health challenges and difficulties.

Zone Club is an award-winning community arts project that uses a unique blend of art forms together with a range of approaches that have been developed and amalgamated over the last 20 years or so. 

I've been working there with young adults with multiple disabilities as a music facilitator since 2021 alongside a multidisciplinary team, on a monthly basis providing a whole day of musical, drama activities, sometimes being part of special events or festivals.

Music therapy sessions facilitator - I provide monthly sessions for women who have had domestic violence experience and often addiction ongoing issues. Some of them were charged with minor crimes or lost their children as a consequence of DV and substance misuse. It is a person-centred approach, with a range of music therapy methods and techniques applied into this practice.

Therapeutic music sessions facilitator 2021 - 23. For over two years I was facilitating teenagers with music and provided general mentoring, helping them to return to schools after having some learning and behavioural difficulties. I was also part of a multidisciplinary team of art therapists and community musicians. I worked with arts as well facilitating young people, combining art with music and imagery work.

Therapeutic music sessions facilitator - in 2022 I carried out 13 sessions working with mainly very young refugees and children from different cultures and backgrounds, who experienced traumas and crimes, mixed-gender groups or individuals.  Some sessions were with young people at a refugees' Youth club. Eight sessions were based on keyboard learning and building healthy relationships and support. All sessions were also person centred, focused on overcoming trauma and other difficulties in regards to cultural diversities.

After every session, Luiza has left our visitors feeling calm and safe in the space that she has created. Luiza encourages people, whether they have a musical background or not, to play the instruments without fear. This results in people feeling more confident in themselves and trying something that they didn't believe they could do. After one of Luiza's sessions a participant commented " The music healed me", a testament to the therapeutic environment made. 

As a music therapist I facilitate varieties of live music events with children and adults such as 'Better With Music Cafe' and ‘Better With Music Day’ which were awarded by the National Lottery last year. With a small team we managed to deliver 10, monthly events, widely supporting the most disadvantaged communities in the area. As a part of the mission I also facilitate music therapy at Weekly Better With Music Cafe providing free mental health support for women and girls. It was awarded by The National Lottery Community Fund and Wiltshire Community Foundation this year (2024).
