When words aren’t enough, music helps you find your way back

Music, Healing & Creative Expression for Individuals, Groups & Communities

Welcome — you're in the right place. Whether you're facing trauma or mental health struggles, supporting a child or young person, living with a disability, navigating the challenges of ageing or maybe you're just looking for better wellbeing - music therapy can help. This is a safe, supportive space where you or your loved one can process, build resilience and heal, explore emotions, and reconnect with yourself and others. Through music, it’s possible to discover creative ways to cope, build confidence, and learn new skills for everyday life. This is your time, your space, and always your choice at your own pace.

*****

I’m Luiza Moir — a qualified music psychotherapist (MA, University of the West of England, Bristol), singer, songwriter, musician, music producer and founder of Sounds Like Women. I offer music therapy and creative support to people of all ages and backgrounds — whether you're healing from trauma, supporting a child or teen through emotional challenges, living with a disability, or simply looking for a safe space to explore and express yourself through music.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with many different groups — from children and young people to older adults in care homes, adults with learning disabilities, people experiencing mental health difficulties, Afghan or Ukrainian refugees, and women and girls who’ve survived violence. I’m passionate about making music therapy accessible to anyone who might benefit from it.

You don’t need to be musical — just open to the experience.
My work includes:
• One-to-one and group music therapy (in-person or online)
• Community music therapy & events
• Wellbeing support for teams, schools, and outreach projects

My approach is person-centred and psychodynamic — grounded in compassion, creativity, and a deep connection to music. I don’t see diagnoses — I see people. And together, we use music as a shared language for healing, connection, and growth.

Luiza has great listening skills and an understanding of what each person is going through. She’s non-judgemental and doesn’t impose how she thinks things should be done, allowing for people and the group to have their say.

Working alongside Luiza was both inspiring and enjoyable… she has enough energy to power a small island … our young people enjoyed her sessions and we all miss her vitality and all-round sense of fun… it was a pleasure and we look forward to future adventures…

Bob Heath (co-founder of The Zone Club, music psychotherapist)

Has been working with Luiza for over two years now, offering our Visitors one-to-one music lessons as well as music therapy workshops for women. After every session, Luiza has left our visitors feeling calm and safe in the space that she has created. Luiza encourages people, whether they have a musical background or not, to play the instruments without fear. This results in people feeling more confident in themselves and trying something that they didn't believe they could do. After one of Luiza's sessions a participant commented " The music healed me", a testament to the therapeutic environment made.
